Hello from New President: Dean Whalen

Thank-you for visiting our website page. I was recently appointed President of Lunenburg County Wheels (LCW) to succeed Jerome Tanner who recently retired from the Board of Directors after years of volunteer service.

We exist to provide non-profit, low-cost door-to-door community transportation service for residents of all ages.

Many of our clients do not own vehicles. They depend upon LCW for access to food and shopping, for medical appointments, for travel to work, for community, social and recreational events. Many do not have access to other transport options. Some are disabled or have very low income. Many do not have others upon whom they can depend for transportation assistance. Last year we provided over 14,000 rides to clients. Safe and affordable transportation is a necessity for healthy community life.

Consider joining our volunteer Board of Directors. We welcome interest from any Lunenburg County citizen to become a Board Member or serve on one of our Committees (Communications, Operations, Finance, Human Resources or Fund Raising). Our responsibility is to ensure the management of the LCW fosters a safe, secure and dependable means of transport to the citizens of Lunenburg County.
